First Congregational Church focuses on reaching out to the community beyond the walls of the church both locally and globally.  We seek to promote an environment of Christian mission and service through sharing our time and financial gifts with various organizations, including the following:

Interfaith Social Services (ISS) Turkey Drive

Through the generous efforts of members and Friends of First Congregational Church we were able to donate 67 turkeys to ISS this year!

The Pantry Shelf at ISS serves over 6,000 households in ten South Shore communities, including Braintree, with an increase of food requests up over 25%. This year, with economic dynamics at an all-time low, more families are turning to services like this one for help at Thanksgiving.  The Pantry Shelf at ISS anticipates requests by over 550 families for turkey dinners this year.
