Prayer Shawl Ministry

Betty Rupp and Rev. Leanne with a
prayer shawl knit by Sally Galvin.
"You created every part of me, knitting me in my mother's womb. For some handiwork, I praise you. Awesome is this great wonder!"
~Psalm 139:13-14
For nearly two decades, care and love of knitting and crochet have been combined into a wonderful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl with prayers for the recipient by a dedicated group from the congregation. These shawls are prayed over and then given with love to those who are undergoing medical procedures, as a comfort after a loss, committment to marriage ceremonies, birthing, nursing a baby, as a bridal shower gift, illness and recovery.
If you are interested in learning more about our prayer shawl ministry or about how to make prayer shawls, please contact the church office where we have knitting patterns and crochet directions available.
