Worship at 9:30 am
ONLINE and IN-PERSON
Rev. Suzy Aja Burba preaching
"Earth Day from a Christian Perspective"

Dear Friends,
In many cases, scripture passages draw a link between nature, God’s glory, and the earth's response to that glory. Scripture tells us that “the earth rejoices… trees exalt…and the forest sings for joy” (Psalm 96:10-12), “the grasslands of the wilderness overflow and the hills are clothed with gladness” (Psalm 65:12). A second theme in passages about nature is that the earth originated with God and belongs to God. Psalm 24 proclaims, “The earth is the LORD's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it; for God founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers” (verses 1-2). While we are granted use of the earth, it is on loan from God and we are entrusted to be its stewards. Being a steward of God’s handiwork comes with responsibility.
Earth Day is coming up next Thursday. This annual observance offers us a valuable time to reflect on biblical principles and how we, as Christians, can appropriately respond to environmental concerns. Let us join our hearts and minds on Sunday as we worship our heavenly Creator.
Many blessings to you,
Rev. Suzy

Everyone will be required to wear a mask.
-
We ask you to maintain appropriate physical distance at all times.

There will be no congregational singing at this time.
Please be mindful that some church members and friends have not yet received their vaccinations. It is important that we remain vigilant in protecting against any potential spread of the virus. Vaccinated people, while protected themselves, can still infect others.
We will continue to live-stream our services for those of you who are not yet ready or able to return to the sanctuary.
